The lovely people of Sitting Spiritually organised an open garden event at the end of April to preview their new Swinging Day Bed, to celebrate the new garden and to promote local artists and makers. Adrian Grey, stone balancing, who has a piece in the garden, Joshua Rose Shepherd Huts, Lucy Young Art and Robert James sculpture all had work on show.

The tulips we planted in the snow last year were at their peak: perfectly open, making a deep and rich foil for the fresh green new growth of grasses and perennials pushing their way skywards. The Acer ginnala’s fine show of delicate leaves framed the view from the deck.

The weekend was a great success, even the chill rain on Sunday didn’t put visitors off!
